Economic Statistics

Professor Tavis Barr

Course
Description

Knowledge of statistics is a valuable asset that will help you make sense of the deluge of information we are presented with every day. It can teach you how to measure phenomena in the world accurately, and how to make a forceful distinction between observations that are coincidental and those that are not. The goal of this course will be to give you a hands-on ability to apply statistical knowledge. We will do this using Microsoft Excel, though the methods we use will work just as well on any spreadsheet program. Some of our classes will meet in the computer lab (room yet to be determined), and the homework assignments that you complete there will count heavily toward your grade.
