This course is intended to serve as an introduction to the field of microeconomics. We study the actors and institutions that make up our economy: Households, firms, governments, and and community organizations. We study to how these institutions make decisions – as well as how individuals make decisions within and in response to these institutions – and whether these decisions are optimal for society or can be imrpoved upon. There is a great deal of analysis of markets, in which all of these various players interact, but we also study non-market economic activities.
